Message (Unofficially, I never really left...I tend to lurk).

A few years back I was engaged and in the process of buying a house. We needed to raise money, blah blah, you've all heard it before...I sold the Z.

I found a buyer I was comfortable with and asked that if he ever considered selling it to please contact me first, and to my surprise, a few months ago I got the call. So after hashing out a price and a buy-back plan, I bought a couple of one way tickets from DFW to North Carolina to pick up the car.

It was in great shape, just as I'd left it and actually with a few improvements (thanks Robert!).

After several people recommended it, I decided it would be worthwhile to drive the Tail of the Dragon/Deals Gap and the Cherahola Skyway while in that part of the country.
All I can say is wow. What a way to fall in love with the car all over again.

A few of the pics:

I got artsy at some gas station.

Pretty much all of the roads were incredibly well maintained.

My brother Matt went along to help with some of the driving duties, which weren't really duties at all...as it was motoring nirvana.

I think these 2 also turned out really well.

So, the moral of the story?
A) Don't sell your car, you'll regret it and may not be as lucky as I was.
B) If you like driving, make a trip to NC/TN and drive these beautiful roads!

Thanks to my brother for going with me and sharing the good times, and to Robert "bobZtwin(NC)" for caring for the Z so well and for selling it back to me!

:)

I'm still giddy to have her back, so here's a few additional shots of both the "Silvia" and the "Fairlady".
